Finck Philosophies: The Long Awaited Picture

OK, since I shaved there have been numerous requests for a picture, so here is one I took today. Fortunately for me I have a great talent for growing hair, just not on top of my head.

Recent books

Team of Rivals, by Doris Kerns Goodwin. One of the best biographies of Abraham Lincoln. It focuses on his relationship with his cabinet. If you want to understand why Lincoln is our best president ever, read this book.
Alexander Hamiton, by Ron Chernow. A book about the most important man when it come to the creation of our government.
Bowls, Polls, & Tattered Souls, by Stewart Mandel. Mandel is CNNSI's senior college football writer and writes an excelent book about what makes college football so great while at the same time exposing some its problems
Presidents and Prophets, by Michael Winder. A book about the Amerian presidents and thier relationiship with the LDS church. It is a different and very interesting spin on Mormon history dealing with politics.
Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, by Frederick Douglass. A short book, but well written and a story that everyone should read.
James and Joshua Speed:Lincoln's Kentucky Friends, by Gary Williams.
We are Lincoln Men, by David Donald--Donald has one of the best Bio on Lincoln, this one focuses on relationships with his friends
Three Roads to the Alamo, William C. Davis-written by Jack so how could it be bad
Vaqueros in Blue and Gray-story of Mexican soldiers in the Civil War, good info but not well written

Movies worth watching

John Adams. Another HBO mini-series that explains and details the life of the 2nd president of the US, John Adams. It give an excelent account of Adams life as well tells the interesting story of the founding of this nation.
Amazing Grace. Story about William Wilberforce and the fight in Engand to end the slave trade. Stars Ioan Gruffudd
Bourne Ultimatum. One of the few times that a sequel was as good as the original. All three are worth watching
Comanche Moon-made for TV movie, but good story and well acted. Steve Zahn played Gus perfectly-get on net flix
Bury My heart at Wounded Knee. An HBO movie, but worth getting from net flix
Band of Brothers-A must see, very long, but every second is worth your time
Horatio Hornblower-based on the books, one of the best series in years. Stars Ioan Gruffodd
King Arthur-new version of an old myth-a must see. Stars Clive Owen and Ioan Gruffudd
